Labile organic matter and fertility of chernozems

چکیده

Soil organic matter can be divided into stable and labile, with the latter directly supporting plant growth development during growing season. To restore soil fertility ensure high productivity of agrocenoses, a certain ratio between labile parts humus must maintained. The purpose this study was to determine content under different tillage fertilisation options establish optimal their total carbon, based on which develop measures improve chernozem soils. In stationary experiments, investigated impact intensity use, its cultivation systems state amount carbon. Field research, laboratory method sample analysis, systematisation, generalisation were used in study. samples analysed for according DSTU 4289:2004 4732:2007. When chernozems are ploughed up, is mineralised most share decreases, while when arable land converted fallow land, it restored fastest. Minimising applying mineral fertilisers increases chernozems. use no-till sixteen years resulted 0.13% increase content, 0.53% over forty-two compared ploughing. application organo-mineral fertiliser increased carbon unfertilised variants. A strong correlation found yield winter wheat maize. practical significance research results minimise rate C:N gross crop yields

Is resistant soil organic matter more sensitive to temperature than the labile organic matter?

A recent paper by Knorr et al. (2005a) suggested that the decomposition of resistant soil organic matter is more temperature sensitive than labile organic matter. In Knorr et al.’s (2005a) model, the reference decay rate was presumed to be same for all pools of soil carbon. We refit Knorr et al.’s (2005a) model but allow both the activation energy and the reference decay rate to vary among soil...

Organic Carbon and Organic Matter Levels in Sediments of the Strait of Hormoz, the Persian Gulf

Total organic carbon has a major influence on both the chemical and biological processesthat take place in sediments. Algal bloom is one of the organic carbon levels in aquatic ecosystems. In 2009 algal bloom occurred in the Hormozgan province and prolonged for months, which finally setteled down in 2010. In this study the variations of total organic carbon (TOC), organic matter (TOM) and tot...

EFFECT OF SOIL pH AND ORGANIC MATTER ON LABILE ALUMJNIUM IN SOILS UNDER PERMANENT GRASS

The rates of extraetíon of Na, K, Mg, Ca, and Al with 1 M NH. NO. from the mineraIand organic-rieh layers of sorne Park Grass (Rothamsted) soils were measured at the pH of the soil. Below pH 3.7 exehangeable Al, deríved from the kineties curve, inereases with decreasing soil pH and is less in the organic-rich Iayer. The sum of the basic exchangeable eations, I;(Na + K + Mg + Ca), increases with...

Hypoxia causes preservation of labile organic matter and changes seafloor microbial community composition (Black Sea)

Bottom-water oxygen supply is a key factor governing the biogeochemistry and community composition of marine sediments. Whether it also determines carbon burial rates remains controversial. We investigated the effect of varying oxygen concentrations (170 to 0 μM O2) on microbial remineralization of organic matter in seafloor sediments and on community diversity of the northwestern Crimean shelf...
